Kidlington Rain Planter Scheme

Thames Water are conducting a roof connectivity investigation in the Kidlington area to find out where the rainwater from householder properties is draining. The investigations will help Thames Water to understand where roof water is draining and the impact this might be having on flooding issues in the local area.

If it is confirmed that water is draining from the roofs into the sewers, Thames Water can look at ways of slowing down the rates of flow. This includes offering 'slow release' water butts free of charge to householders which would be installed at the bottom of the roof downpipes to store rainwater so it can be released more slowly into the sewers.

Thames Water will contact householders to inform them if they are eligible for a free Thames Water rainplanter for their home.
