Cirencester Rain Planter Scheme

Thames Water are providing free rain planters to eligible householders in a selection of areas in and around Cirencester in order to capture and slow down the flow of rainwater. Thames Water has conducted connectivity surveys to identify the locations where there are the best opportunities to provide benefits for the community by capturing rainwater.

The rain planters that will be provided are a form of 'slow release' water butt. They are installed at the bottom of roof downpipes to store rainwater so that it can be released more slowly, reducing the risk of sewers being overwhelmed from rainwater.

Our Rainwater will be engaging with and signing up householders in these areas from October 2023.
